2016 Third Place in the Chem-E-Car Competition Nationwide:
The “Lead Tank,” a 25-pound driverless car with an intimidating name and an intricate timing mechanism, made NJIT history by medaling for the first time in the championship round of the Chem-E-Car Competition. In clinching third place, the shoe-box sized roadster edged out nearly 40 of the best teams from around the world. As it stopped 14 centimeters shy of perfection – the finish line – its creators gave way to whoops of delight. - Please go here and choose the Chem-E-Car ticket type to register for the competition: https://aiche2022.njit.edu/registration
- Each Chem-E-Car member must also purchase an individual General Admission ticket. The Chem-E-Car ticket is just a way for us to ask the schools participating in the competition to contribute a little more, given the additional expenses associated with this particular contest. Previous in-person conferences used a similar cost structure.
- Note that your friends and family can watch you compete in the Chem-E-Car competition for free from home using the "ChemE Car Contest Virtual Spectator" ticket.
IMPORTANT: EDP Deadline is March 5, 2022. Please upload your EDP using this link (also found in the Chem-E-Car Rules document) by the specified deadline: https://aiche.app.box.com/f/13035fd1e8454e41a9f1c21491216805
- Please do your best to ship appropriately-diluted chemicals directly from chemical manufacturers, so that you don't have to prepare the desired concentration on site
- You may NOT bring Chemicals yourself to NJIT
- We are making an exception in case of Deionized water (DI), since we don't have a good way to generate it on site. If you bring your own, make sure to properly label it, so that somebody doesn't confuse it with regular water and drink it! We can provide you with distilled water, however.
- You can also bring any over the counter ingredients (e.g., sugar, iodine) yourself.
